SIMPLE MEDITATION

It`s good to know about meditation that you don`t have to follow a certain technique to step into it. It is just easier to use some tricks. Here is one.

When people sit down to meditate for the first time they often try to exercise a certain technique. As they realize how much they are being distracted by their own thoughts they often feel disappointed or unable to meditate and give up.

Getting distracted by thoughts is absolutely normal - actually they are the key to help you becoming aware! Foremost in the beginning of your practice. See your thoughts as clouds and just let them pass bye. Meditation is a tool to awareness so if there would be no thoughts or distractions then you would not have anything to become aware of in the beginning...

Every time you catch yourself slipping away in stories or thoughts about what you wanted to do, what happened today or about feeling uncomfortable right now etc. etc.  - then just realize them as thoughts and don`t stick with them. Try to stay calm and don`t move even if you like to scratch yourself shortly. To endure tiny bits of uncomfortness is the key to higher calmness and balance - so this is the start.

  1. Close your eyes. Shortly check your body parts - tighten them and let go.
  2. Find your heart beat and sense it.
  3. Now feel the soft stream of your breath on the skin beneath your nose and stay there with your concentration. Sense the soft stream how it is entering and exiting your nostril.
  4. No time limit.
